If your a sex worker at what point do you tell someone special in your life?
I am 21 and I live in Australia and have been a sex worker for 2 years. Its not my career but I am doing this while I am at University.
I like my job but have never had a boyfriend. I feel I would find it hard to tell someone about my occupation as I'm not sure how they would respond.I also worry about hurting them.I find if males have found out in the past they think I'm not girlfriend material or a slut.
I want to date because I obviously want to be happy and fall in love one day. If I meet a male I like again should I pursue it?
Should I tell him straight off? Should I keep it a secret? Do I wait untill we know eachother a little better?
I'm confused about this situation what would you do?
Best answer:
Answer by wicked-sweet i would wait until you guys know eachother better, and i wouldn't rush into sex with him. oh, and tell him before you guys do have sex.

Philadelphia's archbishop announced the suspension of 21 priests who were named as child molestation suspects in a recent grand jury report. Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange may be in a legal fight against being sent to Sweden over sexual assault accusations, but he is also set for another UK court battle. He is threatening to bring a libel action against the Guardian newspaper, which helped release American war logs and secret diplomatic cables obtained by Wikileaks. Assange is understood to be angry at claims in a book the newspaper published about the whistle-blowing website. The book says Assange believed that informants mentioned in leaked war documents would deserve it, if they were killed as a result of the leaks. And as Laura Emmet has found out, this is not the only thing the Guardian has done to cause cracks in their relationship with Assange.

A WOMAN'S LIFE IN OLD JAPAN -- "Menstrual Red" Under Garments -- A Posing Geisha Shows Us Something Rarely Seen in Any Photograph
She looks none too happy striking this pose for the photographer. In fact, she looks like she wants to hit him. But, he's paying good money for this, and she has to do what he says.
Hanging on to a laborers basket with one hand while apparently bracing herself on the floor with the other as she leans slightly back makes no sense here, as she is wearing an expensive Kimono.
But that is not the problem she has with this pose. He has asked her to pull up her outer Kimono, tuck the corners under the "obi rope", and lean back with her legs parted to spread the red under-liner.
I showed this to many women in Japan over the years, and they all told me the same thing: "......all kimonos in those days had a red under-garment to mask the inevitable menstrual stains and spotting that would sometimes catch them off guard when their period started......"
And they would follow that with, ".....Wow. Where did you find this picture !?...."
In spite of the blunt "menstrual masking" explanations given to me by the Japanese women as above, in polite society, other explanations are euphemistically employed to mask the masking itself, and we are kindly misdirected by such after-the-fact pleasantries as this :
".........The word "Ko-itten" means a âtouch of scarletâ in Japanese. The color red is considered to be a trademark of beauty. For Geishas, the term is used to show signs of affection. It is believed that the color red symbolizes fertility and sex; therefore, many undergarments are red to ensure safe fertility and sexual desire. Also, the crimson undergarments are believed to protect women from having menstrual cramps, and to also guarantee healthy reproductive organs. In relation to Geishas, their kimonos are lined with red silk, and their lipstick, made from crimson flower petals, is a necessity in Geisha make-up........" and etc. www.uoregon.edu/~hdulong/japan/geishahistory.htm
As for our less-than-happy Geisha in the picture, both she and the photographer, as well as the awkward feelings of that day in the studio, are now gone with the passage of time.
But, the privacy and intimacy of a seldom-mentioned part of a womans life is here preserved, and the adaption of these realities to the Japanese Kimono revealed.
In any case, I am sure she had a few un-lady-like comments for the photographer when she left the studio.
As for us, we are left with a rare and unusual photo, to say the least.

Save the girl child campaign by SOCIAL GEOGRAPHIC
According to one United Nations estimate, 113 to 200 million women are demographically missing from the world today. That is to say, there should be 113 to 200 million more women walking the earth, who arenât. By that same estimate, 1.5 to 3 million women and girls lose their lives every year because of gender-based neglect or gender-based violence and Sexual Violence in Conflict ( Read more about UN Action against Sexual Violence in Conflict www.stoprapenow.org/ ). We can point a finger at poverty. But poverty alone does not result in these womenâs deaths; the blame also falls on the social system and attitudes of the societies.
India alone accounts for more than 50 million of the women who are missing due to female foeticide - the sex-selective abortion of girls, dowry death, gender-based neglect and all forms of violence against women.
Since the late 1970s when the technology for sex determination first came into being, sex selective abortion has unleashed a saga of horror in India. Experts are calling it sanitized barbarism. The 2001 Census conducted by Government of India, showed a sharp decline in the child sex ratio in 80% districts of India. The Census Report of 2001 reveals a highly skewed child sex ratio (0-6 year-olds), that fell from 945 females per 1,000 males in 1991 to an all-time low of 927 in 2001. The ratio even dropped further to 800:1,000 in some specific parts of the country. Additional data from the Indiaâs birth and death registration service indicates that the figures have further fallen to fewer than 900 females per 1,000 men over the last few years.
The decline in the sex ratio and the millions of Missing Women are indicators of the feudal patriarchal resurgence. Violence against women has gone public â" whether it is dowry murders, honour killings, sex selective abortions or death sentences awarded to young lovers from different communities by caste councils, it is only womenâs groups who are protesting â" the public and institutional response to these trends is very minimal.
